Job Description
The role of General Manager is a new, lead position within the company and is pivotal to leading, managing and coaching the organisation to achieve high growth, excellent service delivery and sustainable profits. This overarching position reflects Flomatik’s success and underlying need to scale-up its existing dynamic, entrepreneurial operations.

The General Manager will lead on building a professional, accountable and customer responsive organisation, ensuring effective operations during the planning, proposing and implementation phases of delivery, supporting both retention and growth. The role holder will ensure that the company’s services and projects are financially optmised and meet the predicted gross margin; evolving, improving and implementing best practice throughout to underpin good profits.

The General Manager will direct and coordinate the activities of Flomatik Network Services and aid the Vice President in formulating, implementing and administering strategies and organisation policies by performing the following duties personally, or through their subordinate management team.

  • Participates in formulating and administering FNS company policies, directing and coordinating all FNS company activities (in line with Teleste policies as required) to develop and implement long-range goals and objectives to meet FNS business and profitability growth objectives.
  • Reviews analyses of activities, costs, operations and forecast data to determine department or division progress toward stated goals and objectives.
  • Confers with the VP and other managerial and administrative personnel to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions.
  • Develops, reviews, updates and implements business strategic planning, including sales, financial performance and new service product development.
  • Drives and supports sales activities, with necessary inputs to pricing, margin calculations, resourcing and readiness, as well as commercial negotiations.
  • Oversees all service delivery to review productivity and operating performance and resolve operational, delivery and logistical problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays and to meet future growth.
  • Exceptional Customer Relationship Management and Escalation Management where required.
  • Oversees key projects, processes and performance reports, data and analysis.
  • Oversee company-wide quality management and H&S systems, including both compliance and performance.
  • Reviews and supports wider engineering and sales activities to consider new concepts and go-to-market approaches to bring about improvements to market demand, customer sales, cost-effective delivery, safety and market growth.
  • Reviews plans, operations and supporting systems to meet requirements for business planning and to ascertain the competence and capability sourcing requirements to develop further into new and existing markets.
  • Reviews and approves preparation of accounting analysis for budgetary planning and implementation, delivery efficiency, financial reporting, budgetary planning and submittal for capital expenditures.

People Management responsibilities

This role manages and directs the FNS management team and some direct staff, covering the areas of Sales, Service Delivery and Business Operations. The role is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of direct reports and for carrying out management responsibilities in accordance with the organisation’s policies and applicable laws. The organisation consists of permanent, fixed term and contingent, contractor personnel.

The performance of this position will require visits to various Flomatik and Teleste offices, as well as regular travel to various UK client sites. Infrequent travel to other European offices is also expected. For the most part the GM will be exposed to normal office, datacentre and warehouse environments, but some visits to outdoor sites may  be included also.

The physical demands of this role. Long periods of time sitting at a desk. Prolonged use of laptop/tablet/phone. The potential for light lifting.
