Job Description

Flomatik Network Services are seeking a GIS Administrator to work in our GIS team in Fort Dunlop, Birmingham. You’ll be working to support the team which is responsible for all our large-scale telecommunication network infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate would be an individual looking to begin a career in GIS, eager to learn and develop within the GIS team.

Main Outline Duties and Person Requirement:

  • Liaise with third parties to obtain asset maps from national scale utility companies
  • Collate street works information from various sources (including Symology, onenetwork and Bentley Exor)
  • Capture existing/planned data in GIS inventory systems
  • Geo reference site plans against a variety of base maps
  • Highlight and escalate anomalies within planned and as-built data
  • Work to strict deadlines, whilst delivering high quality work with minimal supervision
  • Prioritise GIS Administration activities, in line with project deliverables
  • Update project management trackers in real-time
  • Responsible for the Quality Assurance of GIS Administration outputs
  • Report and escalate issues to GIS Management as required
  • Update and maintain comprehensive project documentation

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and be ‘tech savvy’
  • Able to work independently, as well as within a team
  • Appropriate educational background including GIS, geography, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly


  • Working experience of QGIS
  • Understanding of a programming language such as Python
  • An understanding of telecoms engineering principals
